As a Field Service Engineer at Valmet will primarily be responsible for performing the duties and responsibilities to support the Recovery Field Service (RFS) and Energy Field Service (EFS), for the North American teams.The Field Service Engineer will also support and adhere to Valmet Inc. Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) goals and directives. This position plays a critical role in supporting our customers operations and ensuring their equipment is running at optimal levels.

The candidate in this position will Perform process and field services for a wide variety of Pulp, Energy, & Circularity equipment and products. Including, but not limited to: Utilities, Recausticizing, Woodyard, Fiber processing, and Pulping & Paper equipment typically found in a Pulp & Paper mill.

On a day-to-day basis this position will support all field service activities, support others in the field, or travel to the customer location to deliver critical hands-on support. Service is provided for both planned and unplanned maintenance, or on an as-needed emergency basis. In the end, our goal is to provide the highest level of commitment and service to our customers by:

  • Completing Start-ups, Shut-downs, commissioning services, Inspections and Condition assessments,and ensuring their equipment is running at optimum levels.

  • Work with cutting edge technology and tools

  • Maintenance and Service Agreements, Tune-ups, Troubleshooting

  • May include travel overseas to support targeted projects.

  • Outage Planning and execution

  • Emergency assistance and root cause analysis

  • Support and adhere to Valmet Health, Safety, and Environmental goals and directives.

  • Prepare and submit detailed service reports as directed in a timely manner.

  • Work in a team environment with Field Service Engineers, Product Engineers, and Sales personnel.

  • Develop relationships with key customers and conduct service sales visits.

Requirements:

Well qualified candidate should have degree from college, university, or technical/trade school; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This position may require travel greater than 50% or more for providing service and following up with the customers on a regular basis. International assignments may also be required. Paper industry experience of more than 5 year a bonus.

Strong background in Boilers (Chemical Recovery andPower Generation), Woodyard, Evaporation, Lime Kiln, Pulp drying, and Recaust would be helpful. Good communication and organizational skills required, along with strong PC skills.
