Registered Nurse (RN) - PCCU Surgical Telemetry - Full Time Nights

 Work hours: Full Time (Nights) 7p-7a (36hr/wk.) Weekend and holiday requirements

 Department Highlights:

The PCCU Surgical Telemetry Unit is searching for a Registered Nurse who maintains a high degree of confidentiality, possesses positive interpersonal skills and is customer service focused. This unit is a 35-bed unit in the Hamon Tower. We specialize in the care of cardiovascular surgical patients, thoracic surgical patients, vascular surgical patients, Cath lab patients, heart failure patients, pacemakers, and all cardiac conditions. This unit is a high acuity telemetry unit that signifies a reduced nurse to patient ratio.  We have self-scheduling which helps with the work/life balance as well.  Our patient ratio is 4:1-5:1, depending on acuity levels

Experience
1 Year Experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program Req
Licenses and Certifications
RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Req And
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Req And
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days Req And
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Req And
BCMSN - Board Certified Medical-Surgical Nurse Upon Hire Pref Or
CRRN - Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse Upon Hire Pref Or
PCCN - Progressive Care Nurse Certified Upon Hire Pref

What You Will Do

        Assesses the patient

        Plans the care of the patient

        Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

        Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.

        Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

        Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.

        Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
