Are you interested in an Internship Co-op opportunity with Philips? We welcome individuals who are currently pursuing an undergraduate (BS) and/or graduate (MS) degree to participate in paid opportunities at our site in New Kensington. Through this role you will gain meaningful, hands-on experience working for a HealthTech company.
Your role:
  • Assist in the development, evaluation, and validation of cleaning and disinfection strategies for reusable medical devices.
  • Define, review, and scrutinize cleaning and disinfection requirements to ensure they are complete, risk-based, and testable.
  • Help to plan, coordinate, and execute cleaning and disinfection testing with internal and external laboratories.
  • Develop and execute test plans, protocols, and reports in accordance with ISO Standards, FDA Guidance, and global regulatory expectations.
  • Perform hands-on testing independently and through coordination with test technicians.
  • Assess material compatibility, degradation, and functional impacts associated with repeated cleaning and disinfection cycles.

You're the right fit if:
  • You are pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering/Biomedical Engineering, Microbiology, Material Science or related field.
  • Your skills include strong technical writing capabilities, communication skills, and basic knowledge in chemistry, material science, microbiology or related disciplines.
  • You've acquired 2+ years of experience in University and/or previous internships or coops.
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.

Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company's facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company's main facilities, generally at the customers' or suppliers' locations.
