Job description

St. Mary's Medical Center is looking for a Full Time IV Lead Pharmacy Tech. The Pharmacy IV Lead Technician, under the supervision of the Director of Pharmacy or authorized designee, will collaborate with the assigned IV Room Pharmacists to assure compliance and successful operations within the IV Room. The IV Lead Technician will function in strict accordance to state and federal laws and regulations and comply with hospital policies and procedures. Key job responsibilities of this position include: overseeing the day to day operations of the IV room and technical staff, monthly environmental monitoring, sterile technique competency, routine cleanroom cleaning, adherence to workflow and compounding logs, staff aseptic technique and product quality assurance, managing IV inventory, assisting with PI and quality assurance, and education and training of all new IV staff and students.
EDUCATION:
Required: Pharmacy Technician Licensure, National Certification (or must obtain within 6 months)
Preferred: Competence in USP <797> and USP <800>
EXPERIENCE:
Required: High level competence in the day to day operations of an IV room, competency in aseptic technique
