Job description

A client is seeking a full time Parts Manager for their busy office near Midland, TX. This position comes with a base salary and full benefits. This is a priority role for the client so we are looking to fill this position asap.

Parts Manager Essential Functions

  • Manages inventory performance, accuracy, and obsolescence and develops strategies to improve service levels
  • Monitors daily sales at the branch
  • Effectively manages inventory turns and slow-moving inventory
  • Effectively manages customer fill rates and customer relations
  • Manages parts inventory to include purchasing and expediting
  • Supervises parts counter sales associates to include hiring and ongoing training
  • Oversees warehouse operations to ensure shipping and receiving operations are operating at optimum levels
  • Plans and attains short and long-term objectives in line with company goals
  • Forecasts and plans processes and procedures to maximize department efficiency
  • Provides direction and leadership to staff
  • Creates routine and ad hoc reports for management as needed

Parts Manager Minimum Qualifications

  • About five (5) years of experience within the heavy equipment industry or similar experience in parts operations and parts sales
  • Basic understanding of financial reporting 
  • Supervisory and management training preferred
  • Product knowledge, including features and benefits knowledge 
  • Solid understanding of pricing principles and discounting effects
  • Demonstrated understanding of inventory control 
  • Working knowledge of warehouse storage layout principles
  • Ability to analyze and comprehend complex documents and make sound decisions
