POSITION SUMMARY:

The Host is the first point of contact for guests and plays a key role in creating a welcoming, organized, and positive dining experience. This position is responsible for greeting and guiding guests, managing waitlists and seating using an iPad, answering phones, and providing accurate information about restaurant operations and local events. The Host works collaboratively with the service team to support smooth floor operations, maintains a clean and orderly host stand, and complies with all NC food safety regulations while contributing to a professional, team-oriented environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Guest Experience

  • Welcome guests in a warm and professional manner
  • Knowledgably answer guest questions, especially in relation to hours of operation, restaurant and city-wide events, and seating availability
  • Efficiently answer phones and assist guests and/or take messages
  • Guide guests throughout the room
  • Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience

Communication and Teamwork

  • Effectively utilize iPad to manage wait list and seat guests
  • Assist servers, bussers, managers on the service floor
  • Communicate scheduling conflicts, vacations, and shift changes to managers according to policies and procedures
  • Communicate in a professional manner to all other staff, guests, managers
  • Work together with other staff in a “One Team, One Dream” mentality

Cleanliness, Health, and Safety Standards

  • Ensure all work surfaces are kept clean and organized throughout service
  • Maintain clean and presentable guest-facing areas, including windows and floors
  • Comply with all NC Department of Health and Food Safety regulations at all times

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 6 months of managing a wait list and hosting preferred
  • Customer-oriented and upbeat personality
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Exceptional organizational and operational skills, and detail-oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including tact and professionalism in dealing with staff, customers, and management

*Ability to work a flexible schedule to include AM/PM shifts, weekends, and holidays

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma / GED preferred

PHYSICAL ABLITIES:

  • Ability to be on your feet and alert for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs. as needed
  • Continuous use of hands and arms
  • Continuous bending, reaching, and twisting
  • Maintains strong personal image and uniform standards
