Job Description
*Highland Hospital is seeking a Full Time Nurse Practitioner to join its growing Inpatient Psych team. This newly created role will help current providers better deal with day-to-day volumes. Candidates for this role need to be able to work Monday - Friday, Days. No weekends or Holidays required.
Some duties include but are not limited to:
The role is designated to support Highland Hospital's Psychiatry Consult Liaison service. Highland hospital is looking to grow its psychiatric consult services for medically acute patients with psychiatric needs
  • Provide education and liaison services with medical team and nursing staff through the hospital.
  • Provide psychiatric evaluation upon request of medical attendings. Evaluation includes review of patient's chart, interviewing staff and or family members (if appropriate), interviewing assessment of the patient and their psychiatric needs/diagnosis.
  • Candidate should be able to work with medical teams to place recommendations such as psychopharmacologic, behavioral interventions not pharmacologically related, and further medical workup concerning for cause of psychiatric symptoms to assist with psychiatric concerns in patient's at Highland Hospital.

Salary Range:
$98,000.00 - $130,083.20 annually
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Job Requirements
  1. 1. Education: Master's degree in accredited psychiatric Nurse practitioner program across the lifespan
    2. Licensure/certification: valid nurse practitioner in psychiatry NYS license, board certified with ANCC for Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (across the lifespan)
    3. Recommended Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience as a psychiatric nurse practitioner +/- additional psychiatric roles as nurse
    4. Skills: interpersonal skills in verbal and written communication, safe patient care, psychopharmacology knowledge, communication with interdisciplinary teams, appropriate documentation and billing
