About Us
Phoenix Rising Centers is a mission-driven mental health organization dedicated to dismantling barriers to care for marginalized communities, including Black and Brown, LGBTQIA2S+, neurodivergent, and disabled individuals. We provide trauma-informed, culturally attuned support that centers equity, social justice, and healing.

Position Overview

We are seeking a warm, organized, and community-minded Client Care Coordinator to join our team in-person at our Norfolk, VA office. As the first point of contact for new and existing clients, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring everyone who reaches out to us feels welcomed, respected, and supported from day one. In addition to client care, you’ll have opportunities during downtime to network and build relationships with local community partners, helping us strengthen our connections and impact in the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet clients and visitors in a welcoming, affirming manner

  • Answer phones and respond to client inquiries with empathy and professionalism

  • Guide new clients through our intake process and connect them with the right provider

  • Maintain accurate records and support administrative operations using Google Sheets & Docs

  • Collaborate with our team to ensure a positive, inclusive client experience

  • Uphold our commitment to culturally responsive, trauma-informed care

  • Use downtime proactively to network and build relationships with local community partners, helping to expand our reach and deepen our impact

Qualifications

  • Passion for mental health equity and supporting marginalized communities

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organizational abilities and comfort with Google Suite (Sheets, Docs)

  • Background and understanding of social work, sociology, anthropology, gender studies, public health, psychology, or related fields is helpful, but not required

  • Must be able to work in-person, Monday–Friday, at our Norfolk, VA office (must be within reasonable commuting distance)

Compensation & Benefits

  • $16/hr during a 90-day Support & Success Phase

  • $18–$20/hr after, based on fit and performance

  • Full-time, 35–40 hours/week (in-person)

  • Paid time off

  • $100/month healthcare stipend

  • Ongoing training in culturally attuned care
