Summary:

 

Security Guards are responsible for conducting a variety of security related duties and must be familiar with current Federal and State Laws, and NATO Joint Force Command Norfolk (JFCNF) Facilities policies, practices, and Standard Operating Procedures.  Security Guards are responsible for controlling entry/exit posts; roving patrols; control, issuance and storage of keys; alarm and fire system monitoring; enforcing building rules and regulations; prohibiting unauthorized access; responding to incidents, accidents, injuries, and/or illnesses; and other additional duties as required by supervision/management. Applicants selected will be subject to a background/security investigation and must be drug free and remain drug free during period of employment.

This position reports directly to the Site Lead.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Woking with LENEL access control system
  • Issue/Control Access Badges
  • CCTV alarm monitoring
  • Perform entry/exit control
  • Conduct vehicle/foot patrol duties, emergency and alarm response
  • Conduct routine security checks and administrative inspections
  • Identify/report security anomalies
  • Maintain security logbooks.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSURE:

 

  • Valid DCJS Security License
  • Valid State Driver's License
  • Eligible to receive a DBIDS pass
  • Eligible for a NATO SECRET security clearance
  • Knowledge of LENEL access control system
  • Familiar with day-to-day operations of CCTV systems

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Involves long period of sitting at monitoring desks, standing at entry points, and/or walking patrols to ensure safety, may require shift work including night, weekends, and holidays

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • May require lifting up to 25 pounds. 

 

WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE:

  • Ability to obtain/maintain a NATO SECRET security clearance

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:

As a condition of employment, must pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results.
