Our client seeks a SATCOM Engineer to guide development and integration of satellite communications across Project Manager Tactical Network systems. The role requires familiarity with Army and DoD standards, tactical SATCOM modems and waveforms, commercial multi‑orbit SATCOM, and Electronic Warfare threats. The engineer will coordinate efforts, prioritize projects, support system integration, conduct lab experiments, and assess S&T capabilities for portfolio integration. Candidate must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain an interim and final clearance.

Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen with an active Secret clearance. This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $50.00 to $55.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Guide development of SATCOM aspects within PM Tactical Network architecture and underlying physical networks.
  • Serve as SATCOM subject matter expert on modulation and coding, link budgets, antennas, waveforms, blockage mitigation, and related protocols.
  • Support evaluation and integration of tactical SATCOM modems and waveforms including Protected SATCOM, iDirect, Viasat, LinkWay, and Network Centric Waveform.
  • Assess and address Electronic Warfare threats to managed systems.
  • Coordinate SATCOM efforts, prioritize projects and tasks, and collaborate with system integrators.
  • Provide technical support in PM TN labs and execute SATCOM-focused lab experiments.
  • Integrate SATCOM with baseband networking configurations for PM TN products.
  • Evaluate S&T capabilities for potential integration into the PM TN portfolio.
Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years as a SATCOM Engineer. Five or more years desired.
  • Familiarity with Army and DoD standards for SATCOM systems.
  • Hands-on experience with tactical SATCOM modems and waveforms, including Protected SATCOM, iDirect, Viasat, LinkWay, and NCW.
  • Knowledge of commercial SATCOM across LEO, MEO, and GEO orbits.
  • Understanding of modulation and coding, link budgets, antennas, and waveform performance.
  • Experience considering and mitigating EW threats.
  • Ability to run lab experiments and integrate SATCOM with baseband networking.
  • Security Clearance: Secret. Must be a US Citizen able to obtain and maintain interim and final clearance.
  • Travel up to 20 percent, typically less.
Education Requirements:

Master’s Degree equals Bachelor’s Degree plus three years applicable experience, or Associate’s Degree plus six years applicable experience, or High School Diploma plus nine years applicable experience.
