Job description

St. Mary's Medical Center is currently seeking a full time MLS or MLT. Under the supervision of the Administrative Director, Laboratory Services, Section Supervisor or authorized designee, and pursuant to Federal Regulations, clinical oversight by the Medical Director or appointed Pathologist, performs laboratory tests in one or more of the fields of\hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, biochemistry, microbiology, serology, and immunohematology in order to obtain data for use by the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Performs and monitors daily quality control and instrument maintenance. Observes laboratory safety regulations.
A. Currently licensed as a Laboratory Technician (MLT) by the WVDHHR if working in WV. If not currently licensed in WV, must obtain within 90 days of employment. B. Has successfully completed certification exam from the ASCP (preferred) or equivalent licensing board. C. Completion of certification is required within one year of employment, if not previously obtained.
