Monthly salary: $15.75hr ($2,730/monthly)

Job Description

Under the direction of the Crisis Respite Supervisor, the Direct Support Professional (DSP) will provide supervision and care to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. Respite staff will apply crisis intervention principles as appropriate throughout their shifts and are responsible for preparing necessary documentation.

The DSP will conduct intake screenings for admission to Crisis Respite and will engage clients at Respite in a trauma informed care way. The DSP will also provide virtual mental health triage screenings as needed for law enforcement drop offs to the facility.

 DSP I is required to attend meetings and training programs relevant to the position. DSP will provide PRN coverage for the Crisis Diversion Center.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, & EXPERIENCE

  • Graduation from a high school or G.E.D. required.
  • Some college or degree in psychology/sociology preferred.
  • Experience in the mental health field is preferred.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid Texas Driver’s License required.
  • Must not have more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years.
  • Must be insurable and remain insurable on Center’s insurance.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.

SHIFT

Thursday thru Monday; 8a-5p

Provides PRN (as needed) coverage for Crisis Diversion Center
