Position Summary
UltraSource is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our growing team. This role bridges Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Product Management by transforming complex technical information into clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation.
The ideal candidate has exceptional writing and editing skills, enjoys learning technical products, and can work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to create customer-facing and internal documentation. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our products are supported by high-quality manuals, work instructions, technical literature, and marketing content that enhances the customer experience and supports operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Technical Documentation
  • Create, edit, and maintain equipment operation, installation, maintenance, and safety manuals
  • Develop technical documentation that complies with company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
  • Translate complex engineering concepts into clear, concise, and easy-to-understand instructions for customers and internal teams
  • Manage document revisions and version control to ensure all documentation remains accurate and up to date

Engineering & Manufacturing Support
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and product management teams to gather technical information
  • Develop manufacturing work instructions, assembly procedures, testing documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Assist with documentation for new product introductions, engineering changes, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure documentation accurately reflects product design and manufacturing processes

Marketing & Sales Content
  • Support the marketing team by developing technical product literature, specification sheets, product comparison guides, FAQs, and website content
  • Partner with marketing to ensure technical accuracy across brochures, presentations, product pages, videos, and other customer-facing materials
  • Help communicate product features, benefits, and applications in language appropriate for target audiences

Documentation Management
  • Maintain documentation libraries, templates, style guides, and document control systems
  • Ensure consistency in formatting, terminology, branding, and technical standards across all documentation
  • Recommend process improvements that increase documentation efficiency and quality

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field
  • Technical writing experience, preferably in manufacturing, industrial equipment, engineering, food processing, or related industries
  • Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and organizational skills
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts clearly
  • Experience working with engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience using Adobe Acrobat and document publishing software
  • Strong attention to detail and document accuracy
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
