Journeyman Electrician - Construction Department
Lighting Maintenance Inc. - Harmans, Maryland

Lighting Maintenance Inc. is hiring a Journeyman Electrician for our Construction Department based out of Harmans, Maryland.

This is a full-time position for an experienced electrician who is comfortable working on commercial and outdoor electrical construction projects. Our construction work includes site lighting, parking lot lighting, sports lighting, roadway lighting, trenching, conduit, pole bases, lighting controls, service upgrades, LED conversions, and related electrical infrastructure.

We are looking for someone who can do more than just show up and pull wire. We need a real field electrician who understands construction work, can read plans, follow specifications, work safely, solve problems in the field, communicate clearly, and help keep projects moving.

Responsibilities include:

  • Installing conduit, wire, panels, lighting systems, controls, and related electrical equipment
  • Working from plans, specifications, drawings, and work orders
  • Installing and troubleshooting commercial outdoor lighting systems
  • Working from bucket trucks, lifts, ladders, and other equipment as needed
  • Coordinating with foremen, project managers, inspectors, subcontractors, and customers
  • Helping identify material needs, field conflicts, change conditions, and jobsite issues before they become bigger problems
  • Following all LMI safety policies, including PPE, fall protection, lockout/tagout, traffic control, and equipment safety requirements
  • Completing daily paperwork, time reporting, photos, and job documentation accurately
  • Supporting crews with layout, installation, troubleshooting, and project completion

Requirements:

  • Journeyman-level electrical experience
  • Moderate Travel availability preferred
  • Commercial or outdoor electrical construction experience preferred
  • Ability to read plans, drawings, and specifications
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
  • Comfortable working at heights from bucket trucks, lifts, and ladders
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to lift, carry, climb, bend, and work physically throughout the day, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be dependable, safety-minded, and able to work as part of a crew
  • Must be willing to follow company systems, documentation requirements, and safety procedures

Compensation:

  • Pay range: $35 to $45 per hour, based on experience, licensing, qualifications, and ability
