Job Title: Logistics Manager

Department: Production & Logistics

Location: Battleboro, NC

Pay Type: Salaried Position

Day Shift, Monday – Friday

Position Summary

This position will assist and support the Production Manager in planning and scheduling of Tractor and implement logistics and transportation. Duties will include management of inbound and outbound shipments, reduction of Transportation costs and optimization of transportation.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor assembled stock to prepare for shipments.
  • Schedule less than truck load (LTL) shipments
  • Monitor all required shipping and receiving documentation.
  • Maintain regular communication with Sales Support department on scheduled and completed Shipments.
  • Provides guidance to dock personnel regarding loading efficiency and accuracy.
  • Evaluates various transportation options for delivery and shipment of tractors and implements to and from all dealership facilities.
  • Develops recommendations to reduce transportation cost and improve distribution of incoming tractors, implements and tires.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of the transportation industry

  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Good time management skills
  • Experience working with electronic data
  • Select carriers for transportation and negotiate rates and contracts with carriers.
  • Respond to and resolve complaints and problems.
  • Keep up to date on shipping carriers, routes and rates and any changes to them.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma and 4 years of work experience in logistics and transportation in a manufacturing environment, prefer Bachelor’s degree in logistics, transportation, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in shipping and receiving of goods.
  • Highly proficient computer skills using MicroSoft products, particularly Excel. SAP experience is preferred, but not required.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Fluency in the Korean language is preferred, but not required.
