IT Analyst

Location: Latrobe, PA (Hybrid)

Job Summary:

The IT Field Service Analyst - Office is a key role in our non-manufacturing environment with responsibility to network and connect personal computing devices with our systems in alignment with the corporate IT roadmap, our collaboration strategies and local office IT needs. This position will also provide computing system hardware and software end user support, configure new computing systems as required, provide end-user training as needed; and lead and/or participate in strategic IT projects in support of Kennametal business initiatives.  The IT Field Service Analyst – Office position is expected to prioritize and address workload as appropriate and ensure alignment with current strategic IT plans and objectives.  Performance goals will range from expedient problem evaluation, diagnosis and resolution, to long-term project objectives measured with milestones.  Minimal day-to-day supervision is required.  Areas of responsibility are reviewed regularly.  Local presence and language are required.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Connect personal computing systems with our network in alignment with corporate IT strategies and security standards
  • Maintain, analyze, troubleshoot and repair personal computing hardware and software systems
  • Respond to and resolve L2 tickets, and troubleshoot and solve end user technical problems in a timely manner
  • Take initiative and ownership of reported end-user problems, identify root cause & communicate actions taken
  • Ability to use remote desktop tools to provide immediate end user support
  • Prioritize and manage workflow to ensure a “customer first” attitude and experience
  • Make the end user comfortable


Education, Work Experience, Skills, Certificates

  • Must have hands-on experience in an office computing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Sciences preferred or related field preferred; Or equivalent experience and certifications
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience
  • Integrate personal computing systems and office applications software in a corporate computing environment
  • Be familiar with Microsoft Office 365 and Collaboration Tools (i.e. Azure, Teams, etc.)
  • Knowledge and application of various Lean and Six Sigma tools
  • Be proficient in Windows operating systems (11,10, 7 and XP)
  • Possess demonstrated knowledge related to telephony, networking, A/V systems, TCP/IP Protocol, and PLCs.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and work with all levels of corporate organizational structure, as well as technical support personnel, in local language and English
  • Must be performance driven, self-motivated, focused on customer service and demonstrate the ability to work independently, and in a team setting, with an emphasis on detail, workload prioritization and customer follow-up. 
  • experience in Design, Develop and Implemented manufacturing solutions
  • SAP applications (PP, QM, PLM) and SAP Systems (ERP, MII, PCo) & Project Management (PMP), Lean, Green or Black Belt certification is a plus
