Your Role at Sephora: Ready for a career glow up? As the Manager, Competitive Insights, you'll lead competitive intelligence and business analytics strategies that help shape Sephora's decision-making across Marketing, Loyalty, Promotions, and broader cross-functional business teams. The work you do will impact beauty, as you uncover market trends, analyze competitive performance, and deliver actionable insights that influence strategic business decisions at the highest levels of the organization. You'll be part of a highly collaborative Business Intelligence & Analytics team that's united in beauty, supported by partners who are equally passionate about data-driven storytelling, innovation, and understanding the ever-evolving beauty landscape.
What You'll Do:
  • Lead competitive intelligence initiatives by analyzing market share, pricing trends, promotional activity, and broader beauty industry performance to provide actionable business insights
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to senior leadership, including Marketing, Loyalty, Promotions, and Opcom stakeholders, influencing key business decisions through data-backed recommendations
  • Translate complex analytics into compelling narratives and executive-ready presentations that clearly communicate risks, opportunities, and business drivers
  • Monitor the competitive beauty landscape and identify emerging trends, white space opportunities, and shifts in consumer behavior
  • Manage and develop vendors, onsite contractors, and analytics partners, including prioritization of projects, workload management, mentorship, and professional development
  • Partner cross-functionally across Analytics, Merchandising, Omnichannel, Marketing, and Loyalty teams to develop a holistic understanding of business performance
  • Leverage third-party market measurement tools and competitive research platforms to evaluate Sephora's performance relative to the total beauty market
  • Drive innovation within analytics reporting and communications by identifying opportunities for automation, AI-enabled workflows, dashboard enhancements, and improved visual storytelling
  • Build scalable reporting frameworks and insights presentations that improve organizational understanding of market dynamics and competitive positioning
  • Independently manage multiple high-priority projects in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment

What You'll Bring:
  • 5+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, consulting, market research, or a related field with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders through data-driven insights and strategic recommendations
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize large, complex datasets into clear and actionable business stories
  • Experience working with competitive intelligence, market share reporting, pricing analysis, and/or beauty industry research tools such as Nielsen, Circana/NPD, or IRI
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including modeling, forecasting, and advanced calculations
  • Experience with SQL or other data querying languages for data mining and analysis
  • Strong PowerPoint and presentation development skills with the ability to communicate effectively to VP-level audiences and above
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or similar platforms
  • Proven ability to manage ambiguity, balance multiple priorities, and operate with a high level of autonomy and initiative
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and functions
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for problem-solving, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Experience managing vendors, contractors, or direct reports is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Economics, Marketing, Statistics, or a related field preferred

What You'll Get:
The annual base salary range for this position is $124,000.00 - $151,000.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant's qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses. This job will be posted for a minimum of five days.
