Job description

Major Job Duties
Responsible for performing a variety of technical duties relating to the electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control functions of our water and water systems.
Starting Pay: $37/hr

Primary Responsibilities
  • Install monitoring and control technologies (Hightide), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and industrial control and electrical equipment (control panels, flow meters, etc.)
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment and systems
  • Diagnose and repair equipment, and perform circuit analysis
  • Calibrate equipment according to specified standards
  • Ensure that equipment and systems meet regulatory and compliance standards
  • Participate in safety programs and work in a safe, accurate, and compliant environment
  • Initiates work orders pertaining to utilities equipment and information systems, and ensures work orders are accurate and complete
  • Ensures compliance with all electrical code requirements
  • Performs work on water and wastewater system and related equipment as necessary
  • All other duties as assigned

Education/Skills
  • 5+ years’ experience in electrical and instrumentation including control panels
  • Must have water/wastewater experience
  • Minimum high school graduate
  • Knowledge of Federal, state, and local requirement for utility systems
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft office suite
Working Conditions
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
  • Ability to lift heavy objects of up to 75 pounds
  • Exposure to potential hazards such as chemicals, fumes, and odors
  • Will work in confined spaces
  • Willingness to be on call in emergency situations
