Lettershop Operator

Full Time – Day Shift

7:00 am – 3:30 pm Monday - Friday

$20.00 - $24.00

The Lettershop Operator is a mail machine inserter/operator who is responsible for operating Inserter and/or Inkjet equipment to provide a product which meets customer quality and time requirements while meeting Streamworks LLC profitability requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read and understand job tickets and customer instructions.
  • Operate assigned equipment according to work orders and job tickets, with established quality standards at rate of speeds for each job with minimal supervision assigned by scheduled and/or Manager.
  • Ability to understand, follow and proficiently execute the sign-off and Continuity pull process.
  • Accurate and timely electronic entry of job, inventory and time data into multiple data collection systems
  • Use the equipment’s computer as part of programming and setup of equipment
  • Setup, operate, maintain and respect the equipment.
  • Follow all established processes associated with the operation of the equipment.
  • Perform all essential job related duties; including setting up stations, tray, and bagging requirements.
  • Ability to understand job requirements and transfer that knowledge when working with helpers, temporary employees, and other operators.
  • Inform Leadership when supplies or parts are needed.
  • Always communicate with incoming shift workers about the status of job(s), equipment and any other special instructions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized area/department throughout shift, while utilizing the success principles.
  • Be cooperative, positive and respectful with Management, Leaders, Coworkers, and team.
  • Ensure all safety and security policies are followed.
  • Participate in proper ergonomic practices as designed for this position.
  • Seek to learn other Streamworks operations.
  • Schedule all outside activities around work schedule and work overtime as needed.
  • Inform Leaders of any concerns that arise.
  • Participate and support Continuous Improvement activities, along with participate in company sponsored events during the work day.
  • Participate in 6S/Lean manufacturing initiative.
  • Work in other areas as needed and/or complete other tasks as requested by Management, Supervisors, or Leaders.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred.
  • Previous experience setting up and operating Lettershop equipment is desired.
  • Ability to sort and prepare mail while following USPS rules and guidelines.


Language Skills

  • Ability to independently communicate verbally in English
  • Ability to read and comprehend written and verbal instructions in English
  • Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, and listening

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to read and understand a ruler.

Physical Demands

  • Standing for extensive periods of time.
  • Bending, twisting and reaching on a consistent basis, for periods up to 12 hours per day.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to grasp bundles of material up to 4 inches thick repeatedly.
  • Vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus quickly.

Work Environment

  • Employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Employee is frequently exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles.
  • Employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme heat while working next to driers.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
