Job description

Job Title: Core Engineering - Materials Engineer

Location: Redmond, WA (Onsite – 5 days a week)

Hire Type: Fulltime

Exp.: 5-10+ Years

Responsibilities:

  • Lead research and development efforts in materials and interfaces, with a focus on innovative solutions for inkjet printing of ophthalmic lenses.
  • Analyze, test, and characterize materials to ensure alignment with project specifications and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and manufacturing teams to facilitate the integration of new materials into existing processes.
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in materials research, development, and testing.
  • Able to work in a chemical laboratory or cleanroom environment, and operate tools for conducting experiments and collecting metrology data.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with polymer material and formulation development for optical coatings.
  • Experience with 3D printing.
  • Experience with material and optical characterization tools.

Education/Experience:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in materials research, development, and testing.
  • Phd preferred
