Job description

The Department of Public Health Sciences in the College of Dentistry at Texas A&M University invites applications for a full time 100%FTE, academic professional track (non-tenure) faculty position with an 11-month service period; the start date is August, 2026, or negotiable. Applicants will be considered for the faculty titles of Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor; rank commensurate on review of qualifications.
All final candidates will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check prior to beginning employment.
The Department of Public Health Sciences seeks to hire a faculty member with PhD in behavioral science or related field.
The faculty member will:
  • Lead and contribute to the behavioral science curriculum across the DDS and dental hygiene programs, including instruction in health behavior theory, motivational interviewing, patient communication, cultural competence, and social determinants of oral health, etc.
  • Establish a research program focused on community engagement and implementation science and pursue extramural research funding.
  • Participate in the College's community outreach and engagement activities to enhance the College's community impact.

Qualifications
Candidate must have a PhD in behavioral science, implementation science, psychology, or closely related filed, and demonstrated the training and experience in behavioral science relevant to health or oral health.
