Job description

Ehsan Law, PLLC is seeking a full-time, experienced Associate Immigration Attorney in the Seattle area. We are a mission-driven immigration law firm committed to providing strong, compassionate, and strategic representation to immigrants and their families.
The ideal candidate can independently manage complex immigration, detention, and appellate matters while collaborating effectively with attorneys, legal assistants, and support staff.
*Responsibilities*
* Conduct consultations and advise prospective and existing clients on available immigration options.
* Manage a diverse immigration caseload and ensure compliance with all deadlines.
* Develop case strategies, gather evidence, prepare declarations, and supervise case preparation.
* Represent clients before USCIS and EOIR, including asylum interviews, adjustment interviews, Master Calendar Hearings, Individual Hearings, and bond proceedings.
* Handle removal defense, affirmative and defensive asylum, humanitarian relief, waivers, and family-based immigration matters.
* Represent clients in immigration-related habeas corpus proceedings before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.
* Draft habeas petitions, motions, briefs, replies, emergency filings, and other federal court pleadings.
* Prepare and litigate appeals, motions to reopen, motions to reconsider, and motions to remand before the Board of Immigration Appeals.
* Handle petitions for review, stay motions, briefing, and related proceedings before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
* Research complex immigration, detention, constitutional, and appellate issues.
* Draft and review briefs, motions, declarations, legal memoranda, and other filings.
* Supervise legal assistants and provide timely, clear case updates to clients.
* Participate in case-review and team meetings.
* Travel as needed for hearings, interviews, and other proceedings.
*Qualifications*
* Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
* Active admission and good standing with the Washington State Bar Association.
* Active admission and good standing before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.
* At least four years of full-time immigration law experience.
* Substantial experience with removal defense, asylum, humanitarian relief, and family-based immigration.
* Prior experience handling immigration-related federal habeas corpus litigation.
* Experience appearing before EOIR and preparing BIA appeals.
* Experience with, or substantial familiarity with, Ninth Circuit petitions for review and related appellate proceedings.
* Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
* Ability to independently manage a demanding caseload and competing deadlines.
* Strong professional judgment, organization, attention to detail, and client-service skills.
* Ability to supervise staff and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
* Professional references from prior employers or supervising attorneys will be required.
