Essential Functions
  • Verify demographics to avoid duplicate patients. Arrive patients in a timely manner obtaining and updating emergency contact information to include guarantor, addresses (i.e., seasonal, parents, etc.). Provides appropriate questionnaires to patients. Monitors lobby to ensure patients are not waiting excessive amounts of time. Notifies patients of wait times.
  • Obtains and/or verifies current insurance information when scheduling and arriving appointments. Follows IDX Alert policy prior to scheduling appointment. Follows PFS collection comments. Verifies payment sources accurately entered into IDX with appropriate case built and attached (i.e., liability, work comp, agency, grants, employer, legal).
  • Communicates with department MCR to verify appropriate referrals are entered and attached to appointment in a timely manner.
  • Schedules and cancels appointments accurately following protocol. Proportionately handles incoming calls. Reschedules bumped patients in a timely manner.
  • Reviews exam screening forms. Prepares patients appropriately for the examination. Administers & times Oral contrast per protocol .

Requirements
Required Education and Experience High school graduate or GED.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications Must possess and demonstrate excellent communication skills. Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision with an ability to exercise judgment and discretion. Must have basic knowledge of Windows-based computer applications. Must have accurate keyboard skills. Prefer one-year billing experience within medical or insurance environment. Basic medical terminology & understanding of medical terms.
