Staff Accountant (Full Time) - Baton Rouge, LA
Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week
STL Holding Company, LLC is looking for a Staff Accountant to handle general accounting functions including, but not limited to, working with accounting staff on miscellaneous projects, preparing monthly journal entries, maintaining balance sheet ledgers, and various account reconciliations and analysis.
OVERVIEW
Under the direction of the Controller, the Staff Accountant will participate in general ledger, month end close and reporting processes.
JOB DUTIES amp; RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accurate financial reporting
  • Provide coding for invoices to the Accounts Payable clerks
  • Prepare account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records
  • Assist with audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries
  • Support in daily, monthly, quarterly and annual tasks
  • Support in the preparation of financial reports
  • Review transactions for consistent and appropriate account coding in accordance with GAAP and company policies
  • Prepare schedules to be used in budget planning
  • Assist with projects as needed
JOB REQUIREMENTS amp; SKILLS
  • Bachelors’ degree in Accounting required
  • 1-2 years experience in an accounting role
  • Strong work ethic and reliable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Self – directed
  • Process oriented
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to handle day to day functions while working directly with accounting and operations teams and outside parties
  • Residency in one of the following states is a requirement for the position: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, or Texas.
