Job Summary

The HR Representative will play an essential role in supporting our team’s daily operations and long-term success. In this role, you will manage a variety of human resources duties, with a heavy emphasis on talent acquisition, alongside onboarding, compliance, and special HR projects. Your mission will be to ensure an exceptional employee experience and align daily HR practices with our company’s strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Sourcing (Roughly 70%)

  • Full-Cycle Recruitment: Coordinate and facilitate the entire recruitment process, including crafting compelling job postings, screening resumes, conducting initial interviews, and guiding selection.
  • Hiring Manager Collaboration: Partner closely with hiring managers to identify staffing requirements and establish clear candidate criteria.
  • Proactive Sourcing & Pipelines: Build robust talent pipelines by leveraging social media networks, industry professional groups, and past applicant pools.
  • Community Engagement: Plan, advertise, and operate collaborative Open Houses or Job Fairs to boost local recruitment efforts.
  • Data & Metrics: Maintain data integrity by logging candidate information accurately into our Applicant Tracking System.
  • Network Referrals: Actively cultivate internal and external networks to source referrals for hard-to-fill positions.

Employee Onboarding & Compliance (Roughly 20%)

  • HRIS Administration: Approve, upload, and manage new hire information within the HRIS database.
  • Compliance Management: Maintain meticulous employee files, track I-9 compliance, verify resident status/work authorizations, and run quarterly OFAC checks.
  • New Hire Touchpoints: Conduct structured check-ins with new hires to ensure a seamless transition into the company, and perform thoughtful exit interviews.
  • Operational Support: Handle employment verifications, register and issue pay cards, track On-the-Job Training (OJT) documentation, and coordinate standard procedures like Statement of Business Conduct (SOBC) compliance.
  • Logistics & Coordination: Issue employee ID badges, order uniforms, manage incoming/outgoing corporate mail (FedEx/UPS), and assist with other administrative duties as assigned.

Employee Relations (Roughly 10%)

  • Workplace Investigations: Conduct thorough, objective, and timely investigations into internal employee complaints, grievances, or policy violations to maintain a fair, safe, and positive workplace environment.
  • Conflict Resolution: Act as a trusted point of contact for employees, providing empathetic guidance, mediation, and support to resolve workplace conflicts constructively.
  • Management Partnership: Collaborate with leadership and hiring managers to deliver consistent corrective action guidance and policy interpretations
  • Compliance Documentation: Maintain highly confidential, organized case files and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Experience: 2+ years of professional experience in an HR or recruitment role.
  • Skills: Strong foundational knowledge of HR principles, compliance, and full-cycle talent acquisition.
  • Flexibility: Must be based out of our Hartford, CT office and comfortable traveling to our Fairfield, CT office location as needed.
