The JOB
The Jekyll Island Club Resort is seeking an experienced and results-driven Controller to join our leadership team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong financial and analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities within a complex hospitality environment.
This role requires proficiency in all areas of accounting, including Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit, Collections, Income Audit, General Cashiering, Financial Reporting, and Forecasting.
The Controller will work closely with the Director of Finance to oversee and coordinate all accounting operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting in accordance with GAAP, USALI standards, and all federal, state, and local regulations. The position also assists in the preparation of the annual budget, financial forecasts, and internal and external audit processes.
The successful candidate will bring a collaborative leadership approach, operational discipline, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity and accountability.

Requirements
  • BS Degree in Accounting or Business preferred or a combination of education and work experience
    Minimum 8 years full-service progressive hotel Accounting experience with a minimum of 4 years at Senior Management level as Assistant Controller/Assistant Director of Finance
    Proven Leadership and coaching skills with a track record of developing a highly motivated, cross trained, and highly productive group of progressive accounting professionals
    Possess Excellent administrative, interpersonal, organization, written and verbal communication skills
    Must be detail-oriented and operate with a high degree of accuracy, initiative, and integrity
    Ability to work independently as well as cohesively with a team
    Manage month end cycle thru balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement preparation/analysis
