Job description

.Fox Creek Veterinary Hospital in Wildwood, MO is hiring a full-time Hospital Support Assistant to work alongside our team of experienced veterinarians, skilled technicians, and devoted support staff to ensure each animal receives the best possible care during their stay with us. Salary: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.

Schedule: This is a full-time position. Our hospital operates 7 days a week, 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM. Candidates must have open availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Reliability and a team-oriented attitude are a must.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily care for pets staying in our hospital and lodge, including feeding, walking, and monitoring comfort and well-being
  • Maintain clean, sanitary, and organized kennels, runs, and lodging areas
  • Clean and maintain grooming bathtubs, grooming areas, floors, and kennels
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance throughout the hospital, including laundry, disinfecting surfaces, waste removal, and restocking supplies
  • Sterilize and maintain surgical instruments in accordance with hospital protocols
  • Safely transport patients between departments as needed
  • Assist with yard clean-up and maintain the exterior appearance of the hospital
  • Assist other departments as needed, including reception and grooming
  • Help maintain an organized, efficient flow throughout the hospital
  • Observe and report any changes in patient behavior or condition

Work Environment

This is a hands-on, physically active role with frequent movement throughout your shift. You will be cleaning frequently and maintaining high standards of sanitation, and you will be exposed to animal waste, odors, and cleaning chemicals. The environment is fast-paced, team-driven, and constantly evolving. You will work with animals of all sizes, temperaments, and medical needs.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move 50 lbs or more (animals, equipment, and supplies), with or without assistance
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods of time

Qualifications

  • Genuine love for animals and a strong sense of compassion
  • Dependability and a strong work ethic, including a willingness to jump in and help wherever needed
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and organization
  • Interest in veterinary medicine or animal care is a plus, but not required
