Schedule: Evening Shifts 3:00pm - 11:00pm | Must Work Rotating Weekends

We're currently seeking a dependable, compassionate Hospital Admissions Clerk to join our Emergency Department full-time. In this vital frontline role, you'll support patients and families during urgent, high-stress moments - offering not only administrative assistance, but also calm, clarity, and care when it's needed most.

Position Summary

As an Admissions Clerk in the Emergency Room, you'll be responsible for swiftly and accurately registering patients, verifying information, collecting payments, and supporting ER staff during fast-paced and unpredictable shifts. This full-time position offers a consistent schedule with the opportunity to be part of a close-knit and purpose-driven team, including coverage during nights, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist emergency room patients and families with professionalism and empathy
  • Accurately register patients and collect necessary documentation and payments
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy while entering patient data
  • Answer incoming calls and relay information to appropriate medical staff
  • Uphold ER-specific policies and procedures, including infection control standards
  • Keep workstations clean, organized, and functioning under pressure
  • Monitor and maintain office supplies and equipment
  • Support a seamless patient flow and contribute to a collaborative team atmosphere
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Associate's Degree (preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a healthcare or hospital setting (required)
  • Customer or provider service experience (preferred)
  • ER or high-acuity patient experience is a plus

Skills & Competencies:

  • Calm, professional demeanor in high-pressure situations
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Proficient computer and data entry skills
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare privacy regulations
