• Build and maintain positive, trusting relationships with clients to foster a safe therapeutic environment.
• Diagnose a variety of mental health disorders and develop tailored treatment strategies that align with the individual needs of your clients.
• Conduct regular counseling sessions with individuals and families, utilizing techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, or family systems therapy, depending on the client’s needs.
• Monitor patient progress through ongoing assessments and adjustments of treatment plans based on feedback and clinical observations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, referring clients to additional resources or specialists for comprehensive care based on their unique challenges.
• Document all patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with legal and organizational standards.

Your work will involve counseling a diverse client population, including individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and other mental health challenges. Many clients may also be dealing with grief or loss, making your role crucial in providing empathetic support and guidance. You will work closely with families who seek to enhance communication, resolve conflicts, and improve their overall dynamics.

• An active state licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is mandatory.
• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, or a closely related field is required.
• Demonstrated proficiency in individual and group therapy with knowledge of current best practices in mental health treatment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills that enable you to handle multiple clients and documentation efficiently.

• Experience with telehealth services is advantageous, as you will be utilizing virtual platforms to connect with clients.
• Familiarity with evidence-based interventions specific to marriage and family therapy.
• A background in working within community health settings is a plus, as it provides insight into the social determinants of mental health.
