What is a Full Time Haskell Developer?

A Full Time Haskell Developer is a software engineer who specializes in programming using the Haskell language and works in a full-time capacity, typically for a single employer. Haskell is a functional programming language known for its strong type system and expressive syntax, often used in academia, finance, and tech companies that require reliable and maintainable code. Full Time Haskell Developers are responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications, collaborating with teams, and ensuring code quality. Their work may involve backend systems, data analysis tools, or other software solutions where Haskell’s features offer advantages.

What are some common challenges faced by full-time Haskell developers, and how can they be addressed?

Full-time Haskell developers often encounter challenges such as integrating Haskell code with existing systems written in other languages, staying updated with rapidly evolving Haskell libraries, and finding adequate documentation for less common use cases. These challenges can be addressed by actively participating in Haskell community forums, contributing to open-source projects, and leveraging comprehensive resources like official documentation and community-maintained guides. Additionally, collaborating closely with team members through code reviews and regular knowledge-sharing sessions can help overcome integration and learning hurdles.

What is the difference between Full Time Haskell vs Full Time Functional Programmer?

Full Time Haskell roles focus specifically on Haskell language expertise, often in software development and data science. Full Time Functional Programmer positions encompass a wider range of functional languages, offering more versatility but similar skill requirements. The choice depends on whether you want to specialize in Haskell or work across multiple functional languages.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Full-Time Haskell Developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Full-Time Haskell Developer, strong proficiency in functional programming concepts, Haskell language expertise, and a degree in computer science or a related field are essential. Familiarity with version control systems (like Git), build tools (such as Stack or Cabal), and experience with continuous integration pipelines are typically required. Problem-solving ability, clear communication, and a collaborative mindset help developers excel in team environments and complex projects. These skills and qualities ensure reliable, maintainable code and effective teamwork in Haskell-based software development.

About Us:

TW Constructors has been a leader in design/build construction, interior renovations, and construction management in the St. Louis market for over 20 years. Recognized as the Largest Minority Owned Business Enterprise in the area, our team is committed to excellence throughout the construction process. Founded on principles of collaboration and success, we focus on supporting our clients' objectives for project longevity, sustainability, and community impact. Our extensive network of personnel, subcontractors, and vendors ensures every detail is considered from project conception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and construction. At TW Constructors, we build more than facilities, we build community support and success.

The Role:

TW Constructors is seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for hyperscale data center projects across the country. This role is critical to ensuring the successful delivery of mission-critical facilities that demand the highest levels of reliability, scalability, and performance. The MEP Manager will serve as the general contractor's technical authority for all MEP scopes, driving integration between design, construction, commissioning, and turnover. You will work closely with owners, design partners, trade contractors, and internal project teams to ensure systems are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with stringent quality and uptime requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all MEP planning, coordination, and execution for hyperscale data center projects from preconstruction through turnover
  • Manage and oversee mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and low-voltage systems
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for MEP trade partners, design engineers, commissioning agents, and owner representatives
  • Drive constructability reviews, system sequencing, and installation strategies aligned with data center phasing and energization plans
  • Oversee MEP scheduling, procurement, long-lead equipment tracking, and logistics planning
  • Ensure strict adherence to mission-critical standards, including redundancy (N, N+1, 2N), resiliency, and uptime requirements
  • Lead MEP coordination meetings, clash detection efforts, and BIM-based coordination processes
  • Partner with commissioning teams to support Level 1-5 commissioning, integrated systems testing (IST), and owner acceptance
  • Monitor quality control and ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and safety standards
  • Support cost management, change control, and value engineering initiatives related to MEP scopes
  • Mentor project engineers and field staff, promoting best practices in mission-critical construction
  • Travel is required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field of study
  • 5+ years of experience managing MEP systems for large-scale construction projects
  • Direct experience delivering hyperscale or mission-critical data centers as a general contractor strongly preferred
  • Proven expertise in electrical and mechanical systems for data centers, including power distribution, UPS, generators, cooling systems, and controls
  • Experience managing multi-trade MEP teams on fast-paced, technically complex projects
  • Strong understanding of BIM/VDC coordination, commissioning processes, and system turnover
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, specifications, and engineering drawings
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to interface confidently with owners and executive stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel or relocate based on project needs
  • Procore certified or working knowledge and skill in Procore
  • BIM 360 certified or working knowledge and skill in BIM 360
  • Ability to walk the job site, climb ladders, and multi floor scaffolding.
  • Ability to lift objects at least 50lbs.
  • We are a drug free work place, must be able to pass pre and random drug tests
  • Self-motivated and able to lead and motivate team members
  • Thoughtful and confident decision making skills with high ethical standards
  • Good interpersonal skills and a high level of professionalism
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to think and react quickly under pressure
  • Service-oriented approach in working with owners, co-workers, and any joint venture partners
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of organization
