As a Senior Staff UX Designer, you will be leading and delivering high priority payments products and the primary architect of our next-generation User Experiejce (UX) ecosystem. Your mission will be to bridge the gap between human-centered design and machine intelligence, and lead the success of payments products and UX/Cross-Functional (XFN) AI development in a constantly evolving and highly engaged landscape. You will lead the charge in accelerating and revamping UX workflows, inspire the craft through AI integration, reimagining the product development lifecycle (PDLC), and ensuring that AI initiatives translate directly into measurable business growth. You will explore entirely new interaction paradigms, elevate our creative output, and reinvent how UX partners with cross-functional partners that amplifies our unique skill sets while leveraging automations.
Whether it is paying online with Autofill, using tap and pay in stores, or using the Google Pay app, the Payments team at Google is focused on making payments simple, seamless, and secure. In addition to consumer payment technologies, the Payments team also powers the money movement between Google and its consumers and businesses.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $237,000-$329,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
  • Lead the exploration of new, AI-native user experiences (e.g., conversational UIs, predictive personalization, and agentic interfaces) that push the boundaries of our current product suite.
  • Design and implement AI-driven processes across all UX functions, including design management, user experience design, user research, content strategy, and program management.
  • Act as a primary advisor to executives/leads on the long-term implications of AI on aspects such as trust, branding, and market position.
  • Evaluate, pilot, and deploy Generative AI tools (e.g., for design system, synthetic user testing, and rapid prototyping) for better quality and efficiency.
