Grandfather Golf & Country Club is a private, family-oriented club nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. The Club features 36 championship golf holes and offers an exceptional experience for members and their families. Open from May through October, Grandfather is committed to providing outstanding course conditions, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere built around family, tradition, and excellence.

Our Golf Course Maintenance team takes great pride in delivering championship-level playing conditions every day. Through teamwork, attention to detail, and a shared commitment to excellence, we create an exceptional golfing experience that reflects the Club's reputation as one of the premier private golf destinations in the Southeast.


We are seeking a dependable, motivated, and team-oriented Full-Time Golf Course Maintenance Team Member to help maintain exceptional playing conditions and beautiful course grounds. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in producing high-quality work, and values being part of a supportive team.


Every day brings new challenges and opportunities. Success in this role comes from working well with others, paying close attention to detail, following established procedures, and consistently delivering quality results in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:
  • Maintain tees, greens, fairways, roughs, bunkers, and landscaped areas.
  • Operate and care for golf course maintenance equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Mow, trim, edge, rake bunkers, and perform daily course setup duties.
  • Assist with irrigation system operation, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Plant, prune, fertilize, and maintain turf, trees, shrubs, and flower beds.
  • Perform aerification, topdressing, overseeding, and other cultural turf practices as directed.
  • Maintain and clean maintenance equipment, tools, and work areas.
  • Follow daily work schedules, maintenance standards, and safety procedures.
  • Work closely with supervisors and fellow team members to complete assigned projects efficiently.
  • Identify and communicate maintenance needs or course issues promptly.
  • Help prepare the course for tournaments, special events, and daily member play.
  • Assist with offseason improvement projects, including course renovations, landscape enhancements, equipment maintenance, construction projects, and other Club initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous golf course maintenance, landscaping, grounds maintenance, or related outdoor work experience is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to safely operate or learn to operate commercial mowing and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work, including walking, standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive motions.
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed.
  • Valid driver's license is preferred.
