Troon Careers is seeking an experienced and service-driven Director of Golf Operations to oversee the daily operations of The Westin Kierland Golf Club. This highly visible leadership role is responsible for delivering exceptional golf and hospitality experiences while driving operational excellence, financial performance, team development, and cross-department collaboration within a luxury resort setting.
The Director of Golf Operations will work closely with resort leadership at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa to align club operations with overall hotel objectives, group business initiatives, resort programming, and brand standards. Success in this role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and understands the importance of integration between golf operations and resort operations.

Located in the heart of North Scottsdale, The Westin Kierland Golf Club is a signature 27-hole Troon-managed facility known for its distinctive design, approachable championship play, and strong ties to the surrounding resort community. Established as part of the Kierland master-planned development, the club has become a cornerstone of Scottsdale's luxury golf and hospitality landscape.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead all day-to-day golf club operations with a strong emphasis on hospitality, service standards, and guest satisfaction
• Serve as a key strategic partner with hotel leadership to deliver a seamless resort and golf experience for guests, groups, tournaments, and special events
• Collaborate closely with hotel sales, catering, marketing, and food & beverage teams to maximize revenue opportunities and support resort initiatives
• Foster a culture of teamwork and communication between the golf club and resort departments
• Recruit, train, mentor, and develop department leaders and associates while promoting accountability and engagement
• Ensure operational excellence across golf operations, clubhouse operations, retail, practice facilities, events, and guest services
• Manage budgets, forecasting, labor controls, and financial performance to achieve operational goals
• Support member and resort guest programming, tournaments, corporate outings, and special events
• Maintain Troon service standards and ensure compliance with company policies and safety protocols
• Continuously evaluate and enhance the overall guest experience through innovation and service improvements
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Recreation Management, or related field preferred
• Minimum 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in golf, club, resort, or hospitality management
• Luxury resort experience strongly preferred
• Proven ability to work collaboratively across hotel and club operations
• Strong knowledge of golf operations, hospitality service standards, and guest experience management
• Demonstrated financial management, budgeting, and team leadership experience
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• PGA, CMAA, or related industry certifications are a plus
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings as business demands require
