Job description

The Center for Youth: Started BY YOUTH FOR YOUTH. We partner with youth to realize their full potential, by creating opportunities, removing barriers and promoting social justice.
Overview:
The Evening Triage Counselor is responsible for providing crisis counseling and responsive care for youth ages 12-21. The Counselor completes a comprehensive assessment that identifies immediate needs as well as longer term developmental and/or treatment needs. This position also provides crisis counseling for families, information dissemination and referral services, as needed.
Schedule: Full time Monday- Friday 12p-8pm
Responsibilities:
  • Triage/ assessment and intake
  • Assessment of substance use/abuse, problem gambling and other risk factors
  • Individual and family crisis counseling/crisis intervention
  • Referral readiness and referral
  • Youth advocacy
  • Case management
  • Community outreach and networking with other agencies/ providers
  • Parent group facilitation (research/science based curricula) as needed
  • Transportation of clients, when required

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Service or related field AND 2 years' experience OR equivalent combination
  • A valid driver's license

Skills:
  • Counseling approaches and techniques
  • Strong time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent literacy and communication skills
  • Knowledge of community resources

Pay Rate: $23 per hour
