Job description

We are seeking a skilled Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Engineer to support the design and development of aerospace and defense systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural, thermal, and dynamic analysis, along with experience working cross-functionally with engineering and operations teams. This role is responsible for developing analytical models, supporting product development, and driving root cause investigations to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance with program requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform thermal, structural, dynamic, and functional analyses to support aerospace and defense programs
  • Develop and validate analytical models to ensure products meet functional and performance requirements
  • Evaluate alternative design concepts and provide recommendations based on analysis results
  • Support product development, testing, and upgrades through detailed engineering analysis
  • Participate in root cause investigations and failure analysis to resolve complex technical issues
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to improve product performance and reliability


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in design and/or analysis within aerospace and defense
  • Strong background in Finite Element Analysis and analytical modeling
  • Experience presenting technical findings in support of design reviews
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to interpret technical drawings
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ANSYS Workbench, including structural, vibration, and dynamics modules
  • Experience with SolidWorks
  • Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with energetic materials
  • Ability to perform explicit dynamic analyses
  • Knowledge of space vehicle mechanisms and design
