Job description

Position Summary

LaMarca Law Group is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Assistant and Paralegal to support attorneys and the legal team with administrative, legal, and case-related responsibilities. Prefer full-time, but will consider part-time for the perfect candidate. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use of ProLaw practice management software
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to attorneys and legal staff.
  • Prepare, format, proofread, and organize legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, and filings.
  • Maintain and organize physical and electronic case files.
  • Assist with document preparation, discovery, and case management.
  • Schedule meetings, court dates, depositions, hearings, and client appointments.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, courts, opposing counsel, and other parties.
  • Monitor deadlines, calendars, and case-related tasks.
  • Conduct basic legal research and gather relevant information as directed.
  • Assist with filing documents with courts and government agencies.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, emails, and telephone calls.
  • Prepare invoices, expense reports, and other administrative documents as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information and sensitive legal matters.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by attorneys or legal management.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience as a legal assistant, legal secretary, paralegal, or in a related administrative role preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Proficient in using ProLaw practice management software
  • Familiarity with legal terminology, court procedures, and legal case-management software is a plus.
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
