Position Overview

Encompass Rehabilitation Center is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist (OPT) to join our exceptional team in Sayreville, New Jersey. This full-time position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $100,000 to $110,000, along with comprehensive benefits. Work Environment

This role is performed onsite at our state-of-the-art rehabilitation center in Sayreville, NJ, where we create a healing environment designed to foster recovery and rehabilitation. The center is equipped with advanced therapeutic equipment and technology that facilitates innovative treatment techniques, all aimed at improving patient outcomes. As part of a close-knit team of healthcare professionals, you will work alongside physical therapy assistants and other specialists to provide comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disability, alleviating pain, and restoring muscle function in compliance with prescribed care.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of clients' physical conditions using diagnostic tests and assessments to determine their functional abilities.
  • Oversee and guide physical therapy assistants, ensuring they effectively execute treatment plans.
  • Assess the home environment for rehabilitation needs, offering practical recommendations that enhance patient independence.
  • Administer a range of therapeutic modalities, including manual therapy techniques, exercise programs, and modalities such as traction and massage.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate clinical records, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, while submitting them timely for inclusion in client files.
  • Engage in continuous collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to adjust care plans as needed and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provide educational support to clients and their families regarding rehabilitation protocols and use of assistive devices.
  • Document and report any changes in patient conditions, recommending modifications to care plans in coordination with physicians and case managers.
  • Serve as a key advocate for patients, promoting home healthcare services and supporting the overall mission of the organization.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will primarily involve working with a diverse population, including individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions requiring rehabilitative support. You will tailor rehabilitation strategies to meet the unique needs of each patient, fostering independence and enhancing their quality of life.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
  • Current and valid state licensure as a Physical Therapist in New Jersey.
  • A minimum of two years of experience as a Physical Therapist in either acute care or home care settings.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
  • Current CPR certification.
Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of experience is required, candidates with more specialized experience in outpatient rehabilitation, geriatric therapy, or pediatrics will be given preference. Familiarity with the regulations and standards governing Physical Therapy practice will also be considered an asset.
