PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The Machine Tarp Operator is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and using both manual tools and automated systems such as Tarpomatic. This role ensures proper load coverage, equipment functionality, and adherence to safety standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
โ€ข Cut, measure, and assemble tarp materials.
โ€ข Operate hydraulic and automated tarp deployment systems (e.g., Tarpomatic/ATM).
โ€ข Inspect, clean, and perform _ routine maintenance on tarp machinery.
โ€ข Identify quality issues and assist with troubleshooting.
โ€ข Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Requirements
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSโ€ข High school diploma or equivalent preferred.โ€ข Experience in manufacturing, production, or heavy equipment operation required.โ€ข Ability to handle large materials.โ€ข Basic understanding of mechanical or hydraulic systems.โ€ข Strong attention to detail.โ€ข 1-3 years of machine operation experience.โ€ข Ability to read a tape measure and understand blueprints.โ€ข Understanding of safety and quality processes.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSโ€ข Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to loud noise.โ€ข Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled facility (heat, cold, humidity).โ€ข Frequent walking on hard surfaces throughout the shift.โ€ข Standing on feet for 8+ hours per day.โ€ข Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently.โ€ข Regular pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, reaching, and other physical movements required for production work.
Travel No travel is expected for this position.
Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
