Job description

At Dollywood Parks & Resorts, we create memories worth repeating! We are seeking a Social Media Content Creator who will embody the heart and soul of our mission of creating memories worth repeating while bringing families closer together while caring deeply about our brand.

We want to work alongside someone who acts as an extension of our mission, values, and culture. The ideal Social Media Content Creator will be equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator.

The Social Media Content Creator affects and enhances The Dollywood Company’s marketing efforts by acting as the face and voice of external brand communications on social media. The Social Media Content Creator leads social media content efforts, including content creation for The Dollywood Company channels, copywriting for social media content creation, and identifying community insights.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable.

Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Manage Dollywood Parks & Resorts social presence by publishing social media calendar content and responding to social users in a timely manner across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok
  • Embody The Dollywood Company’s voice, values and purpose to build relationships with potential Dollywood Parks & Resorts fans
  • Use discretion while serving as marketing team subject matter expert on Social Media presence and content creation
  • Experience in photography/videography and appropriate editing techniques (Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Provide crisis monitoring for owned and non-owned channels under direction of The Dollywood Company’s crisis communications plan
  • Write copy as part of the social media content creation process, working closely with the Social Media Supervisor to pitch social content ideas and produce collaborative work
  • Maintain an eye for emerging social trends, plus pitch and execute content ideas related to trends and relevant cultural conversations
  • Stay up to date with new platform features and social media tools and pitch use cases for them
  • Maintain a solid grasp of relevancy as it relates to The Dollywood Company, the theme park/amusement and hospitality industries and the community (local, regional and global)
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the Dollywood Company and Dolly Parton brands, to formulate internal and external written and video communications that position the Dollywood Company experience as unique, authentic, and one-of-a-kind
  • When needed, facilitate site visits at all properties for members of the media, including print, broadcast and digital
  • Identify ways to increase awareness of the Dollywood brand across social, digital and traditional media story placement through videos, photos, comments and more
  • As a public face of The Dollywood Company, you will promote the various properties in various settings
  • Support the Dollywood Marketing plan by being a dedicated team player, approaching tasks with an open mind, embracing creative thinking, and respecting the ideas of other team members
  • Assist as needed with major PR publicity events including, but not limited to, product announcements, Dolly Parton appearances, park openings, media endearment events, industry events, media production/on-site photo/video shoots

      Education and Experience Required

      • Minimum 18 years of age
      • Bachelor’s Degree required. Degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business Administration preferred
      • Experience in monitoring and responding in online social media community pages required
      • Proven experience and track record of effectively communicating information and ideas in written format, specifically as it relates to blogs, social media postings, and website content
      • Work experience of creating SEO content
      • Demonstration of strong editing skills
      • Proven track record of managing and implementing plans to garner social media coverage
      • Experience in the theme park, hospitality and/or tourism industry preferred
      • Experience with graphic design and related software preferred
      • Experience with video editing preferred
      • Proven experience with common office software such as Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.
      • Ability to safely operate company vehicles according to company policy. Must have valid driver’s license, proof of auto liability insurance and acceptable motor vehicle driving record

        Physical and Cognitive Requirements

        • Lifting and Carrying: Position may require occasional to frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs utilizing company’s safety guidelines for safe lifting
        • Mobility: Position may require intermittent to prolonged sitting, standing and/or walking for duration of shift, up to 13 hours. Employees may also be required to travel to various areas on property which may include changes in terrain, stairs and uneven surfaces
        • Repetitive Movements: This position may require performing repetitive movements and tasks throughout the shift, including repeated use of hands, arms or other body parts as part of typical job functions
        • Environmental Conditions: This position requires the ability to perform work tasks in varying weather conditions to include extreme cold and heat. Employees may be required to work indoors and outdoors
        • Cognitive and Sensory Requirements: This position requires strong cognitive skills, including the ability to think critically, solve problems, process and retain information, have attention to detail and communicate effectively using approved methods
