Job description

Position: Electronics Technician
Division: Remanufacturing
Location: McGraw, NY

RTE, or Refrigerated Transport Electronics, is a McGraw, NY-based electronic equipment manufacturer and software solutions provider for the refrigerated transportation industry. And we currently have openings for full-time positions for Electronics Technicians in our remanufacturing division.

What we do at RTE

Our products are found in ports and terminals around the globe, providing shippers with essential data on the condition of their perishable cargo. Plus, we do some pretty amazing things here, like remote monitoring equipment that reports conditions inside a refrigerated container and sensors that monitor the cargo inside. We also answer the question, is the container door open or closed? Container yard managers want to know, and we have sensors that monitor that. Plus, many other innovative products.

Think about it, bananas from Ecuador, oranges from Brazil, and blueberries from Chile, all found at your local supermarket, were likely monitored at some point in their journey with products made right here in McGraw! And you can be a part of this too.

Why we are hiring Electronics Technicians at RTE

Demand for refrigerated produce is up, way up. And for us to keep up with the increased demand, we need your help for our manufacturing, remanufacturing, and assembly teams to keep the products rolling out the door. And the position of electronic technician plays a vital role on our team.

  • Are you looking for an opportunity to work for a growing local company that values you as a contributor to a team effort? Our motto is, Rebuilding the Past, Developing the Future. And over the past 40 years, RTE has been a leader in creating many industry firsts. Today, we continue to define our place in mobile refrigerated transport by developing new products to help maintain the cold chain of perishable shipping.
  • Do you want to be valued as a contributor to a team effort? Our team is small – there are only about 30 people across multiple divisions. But we are diverse and experienced. So the opportunity for gaining both increased knowledge and self-growth is enormous.
  • Are you detailed oriented with a focus on delivering quality work? As an Electronics Technician at RTE, you will be working directly with our production and remanufacturing teams to ensure the integrity of the products we manufacture and repair. In addition, you’ll gain practical and technical skills to complement your classroom experience.
  • Do you have experience in Electronic Repair and Testing? Then, put your current skills to action right away, and hone your abilities by working alongside experienced team members.

If so, consider joining RTE as an Electronics Technician. We are a group of similarly minded people committed to helping each other achieve our goals. Our work environment is clean, organized, and well maintained.

Responsibilities of an Electronics Technician:

RTE is an ISO 9001:2015 Certified Company in our new-product manufacturing division. So, as an Electronics Technician for RTE, you will be asked to perform a variety of tasks to ensure that every product we produce functions as designed and meets some pretty rigorous standards.

  • Troubleshoot electronic circuit boards using schematics and repair at component level.
  • Desolder faulty components and solder replacement components. (SMD and THD)
  • Work with fellow team mates in the Remanufacturing refurbishing a variety of electronic controllers for the mobile refrigeration industry
  • Make sure the controller is clean and free of dirt, rust, corrosion, grease and cosmetic flaws.
  • Maintain RTE quality, safety and ESD control standards

The wage for this position is commensurate with skill and experience. Pay range is from $20-$27.
