Job description

Learning Management System Administrator
The Learning Management System Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the organization's Learning Management Systems (Cornerstone OnDemand and Canvas), while ensuring the accurate publication and delivery of high-quality learning content. This role serves as the primary Learning Development resource for LMS administration, course publishing, troubleshooting, reporting, and learner support. Working closely with Instructional Designers, Editors, Learning Development teams, and Business Operations, the coordinator manages course setup, system configuration, quality assurance, user access, and digital content implementation across multiple learning platforms. The role also identifies opportunities to improve processes, develops and maintains LMS standards and best practices, stays current with platform enhancements, and provides guidance to stakeholders on system capabilities. As a key member of the Learning Technology team, this position contributes to operational excellence by supporting both day-to-day LMS operations and long-term technology initiatives while ensuring an exceptional learner and administrator experience.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Administer and maintain the organization's Learning Management Systems (LMS), including system configuration, user management, security, and course setup.
  • Publish, update, and manage digital learning content, ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to established standards.
  • Configure and maintain learning programs, curricula, learning paths, certifications, and instructor-led or self-paced courses.
  • Troubleshoot LMS, course, and user issues, working with internal teams and vendors to resolve technical problems.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews and system audits to ensure learning content, data, and learner experiences are accurate and consistent.
  • Generate reports and analyze LMS data to support business operations, compliance, and decision-making.
  • Develop, document, and maintain LMS standards, processes, and best practices while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Stay current with LMS enhancements and emerging learning technologies, recommending and implementing new features when appropriate.
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for internal stakeholders, providing guidance, training, and support on LMS functionality and digital learning solutions.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers, content developers, business partners, and vendors to deliver high-quality learning experiences and support Learning Technology initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to internal and external stakeholders, by providing guidance, technical expertise, and recommendations that support organizational learning goals.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience administering Cornerstone OnDemand, Canvas, or another enterprise Learning Management System.
  • Three or more years of experience administering a Learning Management System (LMS) or supporting enterprise learning technologies.
  • Experience publishing and managing digital learning content within an LMS.
  • Experience troubleshooting technical issues and providing end-user support.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.

PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Experience with SCORM, xAPI, AICC, or other eLearning standards.
  • Experience with digital content authoring or content management systems (e.g., Xyleme, Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate).
  • Experience working with learning analytics, reporting, and data management.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1/2.2, Section 508) and accessible digital learning practices.
  • Experience supporting instructor-led, virtual instructor-led, and self-paced learning programs.
  • Experience documenting business processes and implementing process improvements.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS for troubleshooting, formatting, and supporting digital learning content within Learning Management Systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively, analyze problems, and develop practical solutions that improve processes and the learner experience.
