Job description

Company Description

RIVO is seeking an experienced, hands-on Desktop Support Manager to lead our IT operations while remaining actively involved in day-to-day support and technology management.

This is not a role where you'll simply delegate work from behind a desk. We're looking for a leader who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, solving problems, supporting end users, and working alongside their team. You'll oversee our hardware environment while helping ensure our employees have the tools and support they need to succeed.

You'll partner closely with leadership to maintain a secure, scalable, and reliable technology environment while managing a small desktop support team and helping shape the future of our technology operations.

If you're the type of person who likes mentoring a team while still jumping into technical challenges, building solutions, and making a direct impact on business operations every day, we'd love to hear from you!

Job Description

  • Lead, mentor, and develop desktop support team members while establishing priorities and managing workflow
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training new desktop support staff
  • Conduct performance evaluations, coaching conversations, and employee development planning

  • Manage user provisioning, access controls, onboarding, and offboarding processes
  • Maintain accurate inventories, documentation, warranties, licensing, and asset records

Administration

  • Maintain and strengthen monitoring, backups, and recovery processes
  • Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning efforts
  • Administer Microsoft 365 technologies, including Entra ID, Intune, and related services
  • Perform upgrades, maintenance, patching, and ongoing optimization of infrastructure systems

Vendor & Business Partnership

  • Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers
  • Assist with budgeting, purchasing decisions, and technology planning
  • Partner with business leaders to identify technology solutions that improve operational efficiency
  • Maintain comprehensive system documentation, policies, procedures, and internal knowledge base resources
Qualifications

What We Look For:

  • 5+ years of experience in desktop support within a Microsoft environment
  • 2+ years of supervisory, lead, or management experience
  • Strong experience supporting Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, and Windows Server environments
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues from start to finish
  • Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on technical execution

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert or similar certification preferred
