Job Description
Our entry level Data Center Cabling Technicians perform skilled infrastructure/structured cabling work in a data center for the installation, service and maintenance, repair and alteration of low voltage category cabling, fiber optic cabling, communications cabling and other various low voltage cabling systems. Complete physical installations and removal of structured cabling components, cabinets, pathway systems (cable tray), move equipment, racks, and related communications infrastructure materials.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the installation and decommissioning of structured cabling and network infrastructure within a data center environment as part of supervised technical training.
  • Support rack, stack, and cable management activities in accordance with industry standards and organizational best practices.
  • Participate in monitoring data center environments, identifying alarms or irregular conditions, and escalating findings under guidance.
  • Learn and follow Safety, Quality, and Production standards, including applicable codes and industry best practices.
  • Read, interpret, and apply project design drawings, technical plans, specifications, and manufacturer installation guidelines as part of technical skill development.
  • Gain a practical understanding of Structured Cabling System installation, testing, and commissioning methodologies.
  • Maintain compliance with customer safety, security, quality, and site access requirements while performing assigned tasks.
  • Participate in training sessions, shadowing opportunities, and supervised technical activities to build professional competencies.
  • Document work performed and observations as part of the learning and evaluation process
