About the Role:
Arthur Murray is one of the most successful franchised dance studios in the world, with more than 300 locations worldwide. Our Manhattan 5th Avenue Dance Studio is looking for a passionate and dynamic Ballroom/Latin Dance Instructor to join us in the heart of New York City. If you love movement, music, and transforming lives through dance, this is your stage — come share your talent with students of all levels in one of the most iconic cities in the world. 
We offer high-level training for enthusiastic and career-minded candidates to succeed in developing a career as a dance instructor/studio manager. If selected, you will get paid to train. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Teach private lessons and group classes to students of varying skill levels
  • Assist organization and preparation for dance parties, showcases, and dancing with/teaching students at events
  • Develop personalized lesson plans and track student progress toward their dance goals
  • Motivate and encourage students to build confidence on and off the dance floor
  • Maintain a welcoming, professional, and energetic studio environment
  • Collaborate with studio management to support enrollment and student retention
  • Participate in regular training sessions in studio, along with other staff meetings
Requirements:
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teaching skills
  • Enthusiastic, patient, and student-focused attitude
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Prior teaching or coaching experience preferred but not required — we train the right candidates
  • Professional appearance and a positive, energetic presence
  • Prior training in Ballroom/Latin Dance will be given special consideration
  • Be able to work Tuesday- Friday from 1:30 -10pm, and Saturday from 11am-5pm.
