Position Overview

Vision IT is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to support mission-critical Department of Defense operations at Los Angeles Air Force Base. The Cyber Security Analyst will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to cybersecurity threats while ensuring compliance with DoD security policies and standards. This role supports the protection of sensitive government systems and data in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor security events, alerts, and logs from enterprise security tools (SIEM and related platforms)
  • Analyze potential threats, vulnerabilities, and indicators of compromise (IOCs)
  • Support incident detection, response, containment, and recovery activities
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and assist with remediation tracking
  • Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements, STIGs, and NIST frameworks
  • Support continuous monitoring and reporting of system security posture
  • Assist in maintaining cybersecurity documentation and reporting requirements
  • Collaborate with ISSOs, ISSMs, system administrators, and engineers on security issues
  • Participate in incident response exercises and real-world cybersecurity investigations
  • Provide recommendations to improve security posture and reduce risk exposure
Required Qualifications
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher (must be current and transferable)
  • CompTIA Security+ certification (required)
  • Experience in cybersecurity analysis, security operations, or SOC environments
  • Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of SIEM tools, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint security solutions
  • Understanding of NIST Cybersecurity Framework and RMF concepts
  • Ability to work onsite full-time at Los Angeles Air Force Base
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting DoD, Air Force, or Space Force cybersecurity operations
  • Familiarity with tools such as Splunk, QRadar, ACAS, or comparable platforms
  • Knowledge of STIG compliance and vulnerability scanning tools
  • Additional certifications such as CySA+, CASP+, or CISSP
  • Strong analytical, communication, and incident response skills
