Job description

Overview

84 Lumber is seeking an experienced Millwork Shop Manager to oversee daily operations within our custom millwork shop in Eighty Four, PA. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with strong woodworking, custom fabrication, and CAD experience who can manage both production and project execution for high-quality custom millwork projects.

The Millwork Shop Manager will supervise shop operations, support production staff, work directly with customers on custom millwork solutions, and ensure projects are completed efficiently and accurately.


Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of the custom millwork shop and supervise production employees
  • Operate and support the use of woodworking equipment including:
    • Moulder machines
    • Band saws
    • Planers
    • Additional millwork and fabrication equipment
  • Review and interpret CAD drawings, shop drawings, and project specifications
  • Assist with custom millwork design, trim packages, mantels, and specialty woodwork projects
  • Work directly with customers, contractors, and internal teams to develop project scopes and solutions
  • Create material takeoffs, estimates, and project timelines
  • Maintain inventory levels and ensure materials are available for production
  • Ensure quality craftsmanship and adherence to project specifications
  • Promote a safe and organized work environment

Qualifications
  • Previous experience in custom millwork, woodworking, cabinet shop, or manufacturing environments
  • Experience operating woodworking machinery including moulders, band saws, and planers
  • CAD experience required
  • Strong understanding of custom trim packages, mantels, and architectural millwork
  • Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Estimating and takeoff experience preferred
