Job description

Straightline Customs, the Midwest’s premier restoration shop, is expanding and seeking a skilled High-End Paint/Body Technician/Metal Fabricator to join our team. This full-time role focuses on custom restoration of classic and muscle cars within a small, dedicated team. The ideal candidate brings at least 3 years of experience producing show-quality finishes, executing metal fabrication, and performing precise bodywork to the highest standards.

Responsibilities

  • Align panels and measure gaps to meet strict quality standards
  • Straighten, replace, and fabricate body panels including filler application
  • Prepare vehicle surfaces thoroughly for primer and paint adhesion
  • Perform expert auto body painting and polishing to deliver flawless finishes
  • Execute detailed assembly work, cutting, and buffing
  • Operate power and manual tools for shaping, bending, and welding metal
  • Use shrinkers, stretchers, pull max, and other fabrication equipment
  • Perform custom metal shaping and welding including TIG welding
  • Contribute to full custom builds and panel replacement projects

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years professional experience in custom car restoration

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with TIG welding and sheet metal fabrication
  • Experienced in auto body painting and panel beating
  • Skilled with power tools, shrinkers, and stretchers
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Effective team collaboration and problem-solving abilities
