Overview

Role: Custodial Department Manager in Training

Hours: Must be flexible for 1st and 2nd shift

Location: Travel between multiple locations in the DC Metro Area

Responsibilities
  • Learn and perform job assignments of day porter, custodian, and floor technician while teaching others to operate various industrial cleaning and laundry equipment.
  • Lead small groups of staff in cleaning and laundry tasks across varying shifts.
  • Acquire knowledge of policies, procedures, and federal/state requirements to eventually manage custodial and floor care staff at a single site.
  • Develop skills in payroll submission, staffing patterns, coaching, discipline, purchasing, and budgeting.
  • Assist in staff training, quality control, and in-servicing.
  • Utilize protective gear appropriately and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in environmental services within a healthcare or school setting with supervisory experience desired.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies as required by state, local, and/or customers.
  • Ability to lift/carry and push/pull up to 50 pounds and work around cleaning products.
  • Must be able to work around cleaning products.
  • Must provide a criminal background check.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license.
