Job Overview
Ebenezer is looking for a Cook/Chef to join our team at Jones-Harrison.This position is responsible for preparing and cooking meals as assigned using standardized recipes to meet established culinary standards of high-quality care. Culinary position will plate food for optimal eye appeal to entice food consumption by our residents in our Senior Living Community located in Minneapolis, MN.
This full-time culinary services position includes;
  • 64 hours per two weeks
  • Day/ Early evening shifts
  • Every other weekend (sat/sunday)

Celebrating 135 years of service, Jones-Harrison Senior Living is conveniently located close to the metro bus stops off Cedar Lake Ave./Drew Ave. S. and Cedar Lake Ave./France Ave. S. in Minneapolis. The Jones-Harrison community offers Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing and Long-Term Care with a beautiful view of Cedar Lake and pristine grounds. This community features 53 Assisted living, 9 memory care apartments, 120 skilled and long term care beds. Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of meals by following standardized recipes
  • Handles and prepares food in a safe manner following policies and infection control and safety standards.
  • Ensure timely production and meal service is provided to residents
  • Set up line service
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and work area after each use
  • Assists with special events
  • Assists the Culinary Director with supervision and training of culinary staff

Required:
  • ServSafe certification, or must be acquired within 90 days of start date
  • Basic math skills and comfortable using Microsoft applications
  • Must have good problem-solving and time leadership skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred:
  • Vocational/technical training/education/degree
  • High School Diploma/GED preferred
  • Cooking experience in a similar environment
  • Scratch cooking experience
