The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a skilled and experienced Telecommunications Technician (Level 3) to join our dynamic team to support a DoD client in Suitland, MD. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Nortel and Cisco CUCM, strong networking skills, and the ability to work in high-visibility, customer-facing environments. This role requires a solid understanding of VoIP technologies, basic networking, and Bix cable termination skills. The technician will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecommunications systems to ensure optimal performance.
Responsibilities:
  • System Configuration and Maintenance:
  • Configure and maintain Nortel/Avaya and Cisco VOIP phones.
  • Perform on-the-job training (OJT) for VoIP technicians as needed.
  • Ensure all telecommunications systems are functioning correctly and efficiently.
  • Network and Cable Management:
  • Possess a solid understanding of basic networking principles.
  • Perform Bix cable termination and other cabling tasks as required.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues.
  • Customer Support:
  • Provide high-level technical support in customer-facing environments.
  • Ensure excellent communication with clients to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Generate reports as needed for management and compliance purposes.
  • Security and Compliance:
  • Adhere to all security protocols and procedures associated with TS/SCI clearance.
  • Ensure all telecommunications activities comply with organizational and government regulations.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 5-7 years of comprehensive experience with Nortel and Cisco CUCM.
  • Skills and Attributes:
  • Comfortable working in high-visibility and customer-facing environments.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook).
  • Experience with classified and unclassified Internet (IP) preferred.
  • Certifications:
  • Nortel / Avaya Certification required.
  • Security+ Certified.
  • TS/SCI Clearance
