Position Summary:

The Sr. Credit Analyst evaluates credit and other relevant data to determine the credit risk of potential customers. Makes recommendations, issues approvals and declines credit requests in accordance with Stellantis Financial Services (SFS) credit risk policies, compliance guidelines, and profitability models.

This is a hybrid position. Must have reliable transportation and live within a commutable distance to Houston, TX.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review and evaluate all credit reports in commonly used formats as well as any format unique to SFS
  • Accurately apply credit policies, in accordance with FCRA, across multiple product lines for various loan types
  • Manage exceptions to published credit authority using judgment and experience to produce risk outcomes within company expectations
  • Complete final disposition on credit applications or forwards to appropriate level of authority for final approval
  • Make outbound and handle inbound calls to negotiate final terms of contracts with both our dealer customer and the Dealer Relationship Manager (DRM)
  • Assist with escalated calls from Dealers and DRMs who are unhappy about a credit decision. Re-evaluate decisions and handle professionally to maintain a positive relationship
  • Participate in targeted outbound call campaigns as time permits, in coordination with the DRMs in an effort to cultivate long-term dealer relationships
  • Work directly with the Funding department and DRMs to resolve credit and verification issues that arise in funding
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior level associates within the department
  • Maintain confidentiality of personal information for consumers, including, but not limited to, Social Security numbers, and dates of birth
  • Other duties may be assigned

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ auto industry experience as a credit analyst or related automotive disciplines

Education:

  • High school diploma and or/GED

Skills Required:

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret industry specific periodicals, technical manuals, and government regulations
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts relative to discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, volume, installment contracts, and interpret paycheck information
  • Ability to derive conclusions and make recommendations beyond the scope of written policies or standard guidelines
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to handle high call and application volumes and manage competing demands

Overtime: Required on an as needed basis

Travel: 0-10% as required on an as needed basis
